EPD – Erosion Protection Device

The EPD, by Flowserve, is designed to be used in conjunction with Flowserve seals, such as the SLM Slurry Seal family, to protect seal components in hard abrasive slurry applications. It significantly improves the equipment’s Mean Time Between Planned Maintenance (MTBPM), making it ideal for demanding environments where durability and reliability are critical.

EPD – Erosion Protection Device modifies the fluid flow pattern generated in the seal cavity located behind the pump impeller. The disrupted fluid flow aids in expelling particles and air bubbles, enhancing the overall performance of the seal. The EPD offers a renewable surface for cost-effective repairs and serves as an innovative solution to prevent abrasive wear on costly equipment and small cross-section seal components.
