The AKH5 Ceramic Lined Valve offers exceptional performance, making it the ideal solution for challenging applications where erosion, wear, abrasion, impact, corrosion, and high-temperature fluctuations cause conventional materials to fail. It is particularly recommended for use in abrasive slurries, high-temperature corrosives, and services with large temperature fluctuations. The valve is available in sizes ranging from 25 mm (1 in) to 100 mm (4 in). The design of the AKH5 minimizes cavity space, reducing the retention of line media within the body cavity, thereby significantly reducing product contamination issues.

- Material: All interior body surfaces and the ball are made of solid Mg-PSZ Zirconia Ceramic
- Stem Material Options: 316 Stainless Steel, Hastelloy C-276, Mg-PSZ Ceramic
- Operating Temperature: Up to 350°C, with higher ratings available upon request
- Shutoff Class: Class IV shutoff, per FCI 70.2
- Mounting Pad: ISO 5211 for easy actuator mounting
Technical Data
- Wear Resistance: The valve’s rock-hard surfaces provide excellent resistance to abrasive slurries.
- Corrosion Resistance: Virtually inert to acid bases and most other corrosives.
- Impact Resistance: High mechanical strength and toughness due to the material composition and advanced process technology.
- Temperature Resistance: The valve withstands high operating temperatures and thermal shock, with a melting point of Mg-PSZ ceramic well beyond 350°C.
- Cavitation Resistance: The extreme hardness of the ceramic material (Rockwell 89) significantly reduces cavitation-related problems.
- Cavity Space: Minimum cavity space reduces the retention of line media within the body cavity, minimizing product contamination.
Advantages
- Superior Erosion/Corrosion Resistance: Achieved through the use of Mg-PSZ Zirconia Ceramic.
- Energy and Cost Efficiency: Full port design minimizes pressure loss and increases flow capacity, reducing energy and pumping costs.
- Easy Automation: ISO 5211 mounting pad allows for quick and easy actuator mounting.
- Leakage Protection: PTFE chevron or graphite packing rings in the deep stuffing box protect against external leakage to the atmosphere.
- Optional V-Port Ball: Provides equal percentage control for throttling abrasive/corrosive media.
Industries
- Abrasive Slurries
- High-Temperature Corrosives
- Services with Large Temperature Fluctuations
Applications
- Cavitation Resistance: The valve’s design significantly reduces cavitation-related problems due to the hardness of the ceramic material.
- Product Contamination Reduction: The minimum cavity space design minimizes the retention of line media within the body cavity, reducing the risk of contamination.
